Intro
I believe that we should lower the voting
I believe we should lower the voting age to 16 because younger children have to obey the laws but they have no say in the people making them. Here are some more points on why we should lower the voting age.
P1 Why do the older generations get to decide. (who decided it would be 18 years old as the cut off. Why is it 18 years old. Why are the older people trusted more?) why does the older generation get to decide what we have to do what laws we have to obey. If we do end up having the voting age changed the older people get to decide
P2 Who gains the most from the voting age be lowered. (What kinds of laws should they be voting on? What effect would having more younger voters have on the law?) Are they responsible enough?
If we change the voting age it will benefit both younger and older generations because we both have our opinions and we both grew up learning different things. We both should be able to feel safe in the country we live in.
p3)a) How would we change the age. Like I said before if there is a vote to change the voting age it's the older people who get to decide so we would have no younger people's opinions
b)When would we change the age. If we change the voting age when would it be changed so we all the chosen age can vote will it be immediately our will we have to wait
P4 Where would it be allowed. If we did lower the voting would it be allowed in every part in new zealand our would it only be in certain parts.
If needed p5 should there be a cutoff age for older people when voting. Even if we don't lower the voting age should there be a certain age were if your to old you can't vote because older people were brought up thinking that something wrong when today we know it's fine
Conclusion
in conclusion i think we should lower the voting age to 16 because we are responsible enough to decide our future and what we will have to obey by.
